Visit Schedules Defined for Inmates of Punitive & Correctional Establishments During Ramadan

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Friday, July 5th 2013 [ME NewsWire]: The Punitive & Correctional Establishments Department at the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ defined the visiting hours for inmates in Al Ain and Al Wathba sections, as well as in Al Mafraq Juvenile Care Center during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

Colonel Mohammed SaifMatar Al Zaabi, Director of the Punitive & Correctional Establishments noted that visitors who carry public prosecution permits will be able to visit inmates on Sundays throughout the month of Ramadan, between 9 am and 11:30 am, and between 11:45 am to 2 pm.Female visitors will be received on Mondays and Tuesdays between 9 am and 4 pm.Diplomatic staff (Embassies) will be able to visit inmates in Al Ain and Al Wathba jails on Wednesdays, between 9 am and 2 pm.

Visiting hours on Thursdays will be specified for male visitors to visit female inmates, between 9 am and 11:30 am; and for lawyers to visit their male and female clients, between 11:45am and 2 pm.Fridays will be specified for foreign male visitors; morning between 9 am and 12 pm, and evening between 1 pm and 4 pm. Saturdays will be specified for Arab male visitors, between 9 am and 11.30 am, and between 11:45 am and 4 pm.

Visiting hours for female juveniles at Al Mafraq Juvenile Care Center were defined as follows: Mondays are dedicated for women; Fridays for foreign men; and Saturdays for Arab men, between 9 am and 4 pm.

Colonel Al Zaabi stressed the Abu Dhabi Police's keenness to allow inmates to communicate with their families and relatives in convenient times for both sides, to achieve the coveted goals.

Furthermore, he underscored the keenness of the Department to provide the appropriate atmosphere during the Holy Month of Ramadan for inmates and visitors, as part of the “Your safety” initiative launched by Abu Dhabi Police, noting that visitors will be transferred from the gate to the visiting area in eco-friendly electric powered cars.
