Mohammed Bin Rashid Library Concludes Successful Debut at Frankfurt Book Fair 2025

Dubai, UAE, 20 October 2025: The Mohammed Bin Rashid Library (MBRL) has successfully concluded its debut participation at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2025, the world's largest publishing trade event, attracting nearly 1,000 visitors to its interactive pavilion.

Throughout the fair, the Library showcased its digital services, cultural programmes, and knowledge initiatives, including its global reading campaign ‘A World Reads'. Visitors were also presented with copies of the English edition of Flashes of Thought by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, along with a selection of children's books in Arabic and English. The Library also gifted its latest annual report to His Excellency Yousuf Abdulla Rashed Zayed Hayaie, UAE Consul General in Munich, and to the Saudi Arabian Translation Association (SATA).

The MBRL pavilion welcomed leading cultural figures and institutions, including the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation, Mohamed Bin Zayed University for Humanities, and TRENDS Research & Advisory Centre. Prominent guests included Dr Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS, and Ibrahim Al-Buhashim, Director-General of Qatar National Library and Vice President of the Arab Publishers Association. Discussions focused on future partnerships in digital publishing, emerging technologies and enhancing the global reader experience.

As part of its efforts to expand international collaboration, the Library held meetings on translation and publishing rights with leading global publishers such as Oxford University Press, Hachette Children's Group, Humuensis, Kadokawa, Shodensha, Kodansha, the Japan Foreign Rights Centre, and the Saudi Arabian Translation Association (SATA). Talks explored translation rights for upcoming MBRL publications in 2026. The team also engaged with nearly 100 publishing houses from countries including the Philippines, China, Singapore, Ukraine, Colombia, Germany, Italy, Cyprus, South Korea, and Spain, as well as with global providers of audiobooks, databases and digital platforms.

The Mohammed bin Rashid Arabic Language Award captured strong interest from more than 100 international visitors and institutions, highlighting MBRL's role in promoting Arabic as a global language. Many also expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming Dubai International Library and Publishing Summit, taking place from 30 October to 1 November 2025, which will unite global publishing leaders to explore the future of the industry.

MBRL's participation at Frankfurt Book Fair reinforces its growing international presence and commitment to knowledge exchange, cultural dialogue and innovation in publishing. It also supports Dubai's vision of becoming a global hub of culture, creativity and knowledge.
