For many years, the European Golf Tour has taken in competitions from beyond the confines of its own continent. Players on the circuit now travel all over the world but Dubai is very much a focal point.

Across the season, golfers accumulate points based on results from the many tournaments that take place. This overall competition is known as the Race to Dubai and, at the end of the campaign, the winner is crowned as the champion golfer for that season.

Dates for 2022

For sponsorship reasons, the European circuit will be known as the DP World Tour from 2022 onwards. It will co-sanction the sport's four majors and there will be many other top-class tournaments throughout the season.

As far as tourists and local golf fans in Dubai are concerned, there are two dates to look out for. The first of these is the Dubai Desert Classic which will take place across four days from the 27th to the 30th of January.

This event has been on the schedule since 1989 and previous champions include Tiger Woods, Ernie Els, and Rory McIlroy.

The Tour retains its race to Dubai and the thrilling climax to the season will take place here. The DP World Tour Championship is the final event of the campaign and the honour of hosting it goes to the Earth Course at Jumeirah Golf Estates.

The dates in question for the 2022 edition of the DP World Tour Championship are the 17th to the 20th of November. Dubai is certain to be busy across this period so spectators are advised to seek out tickets and accommodation as soon as possible.

Players to Watch

The majority of players on this Tour and the majority of Race to Dubai winners have been based in Europe. Among the list of former champions are Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm, Tommy Fleetwood, Lee Westwood, Luke Donald, and Justin Rose.

Ahead of the 2022 season, the best Dubai betting sites are set to put Rahm and McIlroy among the favourites to win the latest edition of the competition. Race to Dubai markets will be available through sportsbooks linked to sbo.net and every player taking part will be listed.

There will be a host of other golfing markets available and visitors to sbo.net can also take in news and opinion articles relating to the sport. If they want to move forward with those markets, the panel of sportsbooks listed on this page are ready to take on new sign-ups.

Welcome promotions are published and there is a choice of funding methods with which to get the account up and running. Various customer service facilities and a choice of other sports are among the additional options available.

It's a good all-around website for sports fans and betting followers and it also picks up the many other events that take place in Dubai.

An All-Round Sporting Experience in Dubai

Golf is an important part of sporting life in Dubai but there's much more to enjoy here. The Dubai International Cricket Stadium has been used as a reserve venue for many top events and, in 2021, it hosted matches in the Indian Premier League and the T20 World Cup.

The Pakistan national side has also played here and, although they are starting to welcome visitors back to their own country, the ground is always ready to host some top-class cricket.

At the end of 2021, the region will also be hosting the Dubai Rugby 7s. Played at the beginning of December, the tournament will feature some top sides from all over the world.

A renowned tourist destination, Dubai may not be so well known for its sporting events but residents are fanatical about their sport and a great set of world-class events can be found here. A number travel of operators design packages around those tournaments and some will also take in competitions from neighboring Abu Dhabi.

There are lots to choose from but golf is one of the permanent fixtures in Dubai. The dates for two prestigious tournaments in 2022 have already been announced and the organizers are ready to welcome back the best golfers from Europe and beyond.
