Issues with scheduling around the cricketing world mean that Dubai will be part of two of the biggest competitions in the sport. With India unable to fulfill their fixtures, the Indian Premier League will resume on September 19th with the final taking place on October 15th.
Just two days later, the ICC T20 World Cup will pick up the baton and the action will come to a close on November 14th.
The Dubai International Cricket Stadium will play host to the first game of the IPL resumption and will continue to feature as both tournaments develop.
Dates and Locations for IPL 2021
September 19th will see the Chennai Super Kings take on the Mumbai Indians at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. These are the two most successful teams in the history of the Indian Premier League so this is a great way to start things off.
Just two days later, Punjab Kings will face Rajasthan Royals in Dubai while Delhi Capitals will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad just a day later.
In total, 11 group matches will be played in the Dubai International Stadium while the venue will also host the first elimination game and the final itself on October 15th.
World Cup Takes Over
It's a quick turnaround for stadiums in the UAE and many of the players involved in the IPL will be staying on to take part in the World Cup. Dubai will take a short break from hosting duties as the group stage matches will take place in Oman, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi.
The best performing teams from those groups will then progress to the Super 12 stage. The Dubai International Cricket Stadium will be back on the schedules once more as England take on the West Indies on October 23rd. More Super 12 games will follow, starting with South Africa vs the West Indies on October 26th.
Once again, the Dubai International Cricket Stadium is heavily involved in the knockout stages. These follow the Super 12s and the ground will host one semi final and the final itself. It's considered by most cricket followers to be the most prestigious ground in the whole of the United Arab Emirates so it's only fitting that the stadium in Dubai hosts the biggest games.
Teams in Contention
When IPL 14 came to a temporary halt on May 2nd, Delhi Capitals were at the top of the table, followed by Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians. These four teams occupy the playoff slots and, according to the trusted sites listed by Arabianbetting.com, they will start among the favourites to win the trophy.
In terms of the T20 World Cup, India are the narrow favourites followed closely by England and Australia. New Zealand, South Africa, Pakistan and reigning T20 champions the West Indies are among the popular outside bets.
Throughout both tournaments, Arabianbetting will publish updated odds on the back of match results and it will also be possible to stake on side markets such as Top Batsman, Most Sixes and Player of the Match.
Readers can enjoy news and opinion articles and, if they want to bet on either competition, there is a panel of recommended sportsbooks accepting new registrations, Sign up deals can be found here along with a choice of deposit and withdrawal options.

The Future for Cricket in Dubai
Dubai, and the United Arab Emirates as a whole, has frequently been called upon to step in during times of crisis. The region provided a temporary home for Pakistan for many years and has now answered the call for the Indian Premier League and the T20 World Cup.
Some of the best cricket stadiums in the world are here and, while it is an honour to host such prestigious tournaments, perhaps Dubai will become a first choice location in future years.
For now, there is a feast of cricket to enjoy for those lucky enough to travel to the two big tournaments in 2021.
