Dubai, United Arab Emirates, June 22, 2020:   One of the UAEs leading 3D printing companies has developed an anti-viral and anti-bacterial smartphone case known as CliniCase. Coming just 2 weeks after Major Dr. Rashid Al Ghafri of Dubai police, called smartphones potentially the “Trojan horse” of the global pandemic. The 3D printed smartphone cases are printed with a Nano-copper material that is FDA, ISO and EU commission approved.

“We have been working with this material for some time and wanted to see how we could get this to the masses in a time of need” said Co-founder Dominic Wright “Once we began to see the data on smartphones and just how much bacteria and virus they can potentially carry, we knew CliniCase could help”. Co-founder and Technical Director Max Reynard explained “We have worked tirelessly on the design to make the CliniCase just like any other smartphone case, only with the added benefit that the material kills 99.9% of bacteria and Virus as well!” A study by The University of Arizona showed the average smartphone contained “Hundreds of times more bacteria than an average toilet seat”.

This project is a real milestone for the 3D printing and manufacturing industry in the UAE with everything being designed and manufactured in Generation 3D's Dubai HQ. This is one of the first true consumer products that is 3D printed globally. The cases are made to order in Generation 3Ds print farm in Dubai and delivered within 3 days. Generation 3D will be working globally through localised manufacturing hubs and also have a facility and print farm in the UK that will be dedicated to delivering CliniCase to the EU market.

“We have been completely overwhelmed by the consumer reaction as well as the amount of interest from the retail market. We will be on shelves very shortly and the online orders have been fantastic” Co-Founder Dominic Wright remarked. Generation 3D are already creating a whole host of other consumer products using the Anti-Viral and Anti-Bacterial material. “We expect this is the ‘New Normal' and just the tip of the iceberg for ‘hacked' materials such as Nano-Copper” Commented Max Reynard on the naturally anti-microbial properties of the 3D Printing material that is 99% PLA and 1% Nano-Copper. The material has been studied by independent laboratories in the USA and Chile and confirmed the Anti-microbial properties of the material.
