If you live for the thrills and cannot wait to take on a new adventure, Dubai is the perfect place to try out some of the craziest ideas. Plan a trip to this fabulous destination as soon as possible and you will not be disappointed by the wide offer of activities waiting for you at every corner. Here are some that will make any adrenaline junkie excited.
Dune bashing
If you love speed, Dubai is the perfect place to test your driving skills with a twist - instead of changing speeds on a highway, you will be facing the winds and the dunes of the desert. After all, the entire city was built on a desert, so why not have a taste of its roots?
You can rent an SUV and hit the gas toward the dunes surrounding you in an adventure that is guaranteed to quench your thirst for speed and adrenaline. What's more, this type of activity is open at all times apart from the times when heavy sand storms are predicted. It costs approximately $34 for 15 minutes and it is held by one of the numerous local companies, in the Arabian Desert.
Shark diving
Snorkeling and seeing the fish is all cute but will not satisfy the need for that something “extra” if you are a bold person. On the contrary, it may sound boring to just look at the fish and sea life. But what if you could swim with the sharks?
For those who are not afraid to experiment with life and death situations, shark diving is the perfect opportunity to test their limits. Head to The Dubai Mall for a chance of diving in a tank full of several sharks with razor-sharp teeth.
The Mall is open daily from 10 AM to 11 PM (until midnight or even 1 AM during the holiday season and the Ramadan month) and welcomes both experienced divers and adventurous tourists who want to face the dangerous sharks. It costs around $310 for non-certified divers and $200 for those with a certificate but we guarantee it is an experience worth paying for.
Enjoy a fun day at the Atlantis Aquaventure Waterpark
A waterpark may not be your idea of an adventurous day spent in Dubai but, as you probably figured out already, this city is much more than meets the eye. The scream-inducing waterslides will not disappoint, so make sure to stick around for a while. The entrance fee costs $75 but you can find something fun to do the entire day.
The waterpark has become one of Dubai's main tourist attractions thanks to the terrifying Poseidon Revenge, a trapdoor slide that will plunge you into a vertical wall. Literally.
And, if you still don't think that's enough adrenaline for you, you can try the Leap of Faith. The stunning construction is designed to resemble a Mayan temple and counts for a water tunnel that will push you down at a high speed, making you scream from the top of your lungs. The crazy slide continues with a tube that passes through a tank that's filled with sharks, so there's some adrenaline for you.
Watch the sunrise from a hot air balloon
Those who are not afraid of heights but want to try something less adventurous can opt for a trip with the hot air balloon. Leave your car or scooter at home, and don't even think about making a list with the best ones for commuting as Dubai is best seen from above.
For $237 you will have the chance to see the city like you haven't seen it before while also enjoying a breathtaking sunrise. Make sure to bring a leather jacket with you as mornings can be very chilly.
