Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 26 July, 2018:   Dubai Hospital recently held a regional workshop on quality management in nuclear medicine and molecular imaging. 

The five-day training and workshop is the first-of-its-kind in the region and is organized by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and the Dubai Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging Centre in cooperation with IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency).

More than 40 professionals including doctors, technicians and physicists from UAE and abroad attended the workshop.

Batool Al Balooshi, consultant and head of Dubai Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging Centre stressed on the importance of this workshop that  trained participants on practical skills on how to reduce radiation doses to patients and healthcare workers during treatment of both cancerous and non-cancerous cases. 
Al Balooshi highlighted that participants received training from local and international experts including three international IAEA experts from Singapore, Australia and France.

She added that DHA and IAEA have a longstanding relationship and that the cooperation helps provide healthcare professionals in Dubai with the latest information on radiation safety and practices in nuclear medicine.
