  • Girls from a variety of age groups will get the chance to enjoy swimming, dancing, cinema and more

25 June 2018, Abu Dhabi, UAE:   Thanks to the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy (FBMA) a month-long calendar of incredible sports events and activities are about to be offered to girls and young ladies of the capital, as the newly opened Abu Dhabi Ladies Club (ADLC) gets set to deliver an active and engaging programme.

From 8th July to 2nd August, females aged 5-15 years old will be able to enjoy a plethora of sports, including swimming, gymnastics, mixed martial arts and more, all set in the new, world-class facility of ADLC, located next to the Armed Forces Officers Club. There will also be a number of team sports available, such as football, volleyball and basketball, and for those interested in track and field events, they'll be catered for too.

Those who attend will also have a chance to join dance classes, watch movies, get creative with arts and crafts, special workshops and even a series of Master Classes. These Master Classes will give the girls a unique experience of learning from exceptional local talent, including football coach Houriya Al Taheri, a woman recognized as having played a leading part in the development of a women's football culture in the UAE, and Salma Al Busaeedi, a basketball athlete who plays in the first national team of Al Nasr Club.

Speaking about the Summer Camp, Fatima Al Ali from FBMA said: “We're delighted to be offering this month-long programme of sports and activities to young ladies in the capital, as it's the perfect way to keep active through the summer in a fun and engaging way. By offering such a camp, we believe we are striving towards our mission of providing state-of-the-art facilities and services that cater to women's social, health and fitness needs and inspire them to be part of an active, happy community.

“This multi-purpose space will make women of all ages from the Emirates feel at home, and we look forward to welcoming the younger community of ladies this July,” added Fatima Al Ali.

Throughout the Summer Camp, girls will be set into three age categories: 5-6 years; 7-10 years; and 11-15 years old. Each day, events will take place from 9am-2pm, with registration to be complete through ADLC. Registration is 1800 AED per child, with a second sister (or more) receiving a 10% discount.
