9th April, Dubai, UAE: The first qualifier of 2018 Nations Tour presented by OMEGA concluded on 5 April at the Address Montgomerie Golf Club, Dubai, with a thrilling finish between the top three qualifying teams.
The two-ball tournament and Net Stableford aggregate score format saw Caroline Rosentock and Karin Schmedes from Team Germany take the first place on a countback in the opening qualifier with a net aggregate of 75 against Team Ireland, Damien Murray and John Hughes. Rahul Yadav and Vikram Malhotra from Team India finished third with a net aggregate of 71.
The winning team received a Pro-Am spot in the Omega Dubai Ladies Classic 2018. The second and third place winners took home a pair hospitality passes to the Omega Dubai Desert Classic and exciting on course prizes were given away for Nearest to Pin and Longest Drive. The Top 10 teams will now play at the final even in November.
The players enjoyed a fun golf day out at the course. The next 3 qualifying rounds is open to all adult amateur golfers in the city and will be held at Trump International Golf Club Dubai on 26 April, followed by the Creek Golf & Yacht Club on 4 October and Jebel Ali Golf Resort on 25 October. Winners of each Round will receive a Pro-Am spot in the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters 2018 or the Omega Dubai Desert Classic 2019 and the 10 Top performing teams from each round will qualify for the Finals which will be held at The Emirates Golf Club in November.
