Mollen, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the UAE, in the presence of Dr. Mohamed Salim Al Olama, Undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Health & Prevention, at the Minister's Cabinet Office in Dubai to discuss health cooperation opportunities.

The meeting discussed the agenda of the upcoming visit to the UAE of H.E. Edith Schippers, Netherlands' Minister of Health, Welfare and Sports, in April. The meeting also explored opportunities for cooperation in various areas such as exchange of expertise; training; facilitate visiting doctors who would perform local treatment with the country's advanced medical centers; innovation in health management; smart services application and technologies; and medical supplies and licensing of Dutch doctors in the UAE.

Minister Al Owais noted the importance of strengthening relations and capabilities between the two countries, emphasizing the country's strategies to provide comprehensive and integrated healthcare services in innovative and sustainable ways that helps protect the community from diseases, develop a health information system, and implement international standards in the management of healthcare facilities and infrastructure.

He highlighted the country's healthcare achievements in the implementation of quality standards in hospitals and health centers, legislation and laws that promote research and development and building of scientific laboratories, and promoting the UAE as an ideal regional hub for global medical and pharmaceutical companies.

Ambassador Mollen hailed the country's remarkable achievements which have made the country as an attractive environment for investment for international companies, noting Netherlands' keenness to continuously expand its relations with the UAE, particularly in the holding of medical conferences and exhibitions that provide the best platform for Dutch companies to explore the healthcare services sector and other medical industries in the Arab Gulf and the Middle East.
