H.E. Dr. Aisha Bint Butti Bin Bishr, Director General of Smart Dubai Office, said: “The Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Library Foundation, the largest knowledge-based project in the Arab World, will be a meeting place for seekers of science, culture and knowledge from around the world. It will become a hub of creativity that will contribute in promoting the UAE as the world's capital of culture.”

H.E. Bin Bishr added: “Knowledge is a gateway for communities to progress. Dubai, owing to its cultural, literary and knowledge-based activities and initiatives, has always been a beacon of knowledge. A smart city is originally aimed at taking mankind to higher levels, in order to make them happy through developing plans, drafting policies and creating initiatives. The directive of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to build the library, which will become the largest digital and visual platform, is for the benefit of humanity. It will also help the UAE in attracting the most creative minds and intellectuals from around the world.”
