to encourage innovation spirit and promote creativity amongst students
Dubai, 22nd of November 2016: DGHR department in collaboration with Ministry of Education in the UAE have honored the winners of the Young Innovators Competition which was launched a year ago to encourage innovation spirit and promote creativity amongst students within the schools of the UAE. The honoring took place during a ceremony in Dubai as part of the UAE Innovation Week.
H.E. Amal Bin Adi, General Director of the DGHR department and H.E. Marwan Al Sawaleh Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, started the ceremony with a tour at the exhibition of the winning projects of the students who came from 13 different schools in Dubai.
The winners were from grade three to grade twelve and covered three different categories, painting ideas, scriptwriting and solving problems.
The selection procedures of the competition have gone through several phases of assessments and judgment by reliable expertise & jurors who have been chosen by the Ministry and DGHR department.
H.E. Amal Bin Adi, General Director of the DGHR department, spoke during the ceremony about how keen is the leadership of the UAE to spread innovation in the whole country and to make it as a 'style of life' as HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai said, 'The UAE aims passionately towards promoting innovation and creativity across the country, we are determined to keep up the spirit of the future through you, talented students', he also emphasized that 'Innovation is no longer an option but a necessity, it is not just a matter of public education but a practicing agenda, and all government departments and companies which don't innovate and renovate would lose the ability to compete which means a fallback.
She expressed her pleasure of the outcome of the competition which predicts a bright future for the winners and their society.

The winners of the Painting Ideas Category, stage one, grade three to grade five are: in first place Ghazy Ibrahim Yousef Aldousari from Alahmadia Model School, in second place Hamdan Ibrahim Mohammad from Zayed Bin Sultan Model School, and in third place Rashid Mater Merri from Alqiyam Model School.
The winners from stage two, grade six to grade nine, are: in first place Zaynab Adel Khanji from Um Saqem Model School, in second place Asmaa Husam Mustafwy from the same school, and Shamayel Ismayl from Alibdaa Model School.
From stage three, grade ten to twelve, in first place Rawda Ali Albishrey from Asmaa bint Alnouman Model School, in second place Sheikha Hamad Arruhmani from the same school and in third place Manal Nabeil Khalfan from Alsufouh Model School.
The winners of the Scriptwriting Category, stage two and three, are: in first place Mira Ahmad bin Darweesh from Alibdaa Model School, in second place Sarah Ahmad Almarzouqi from Aljumeira Model School, and in third place Aisah Mohammad Aloulamaa from Asmaa bint Alnouman Model School.
From stage three, in first place Maryam Abdulla Mohammad from Asmaa bint Alnouman Model School, in second place Maryam Ibrahim and in third place Sheikha Hamad Arruhmani, both are also from the same school.
And finally the winners of the Solving Problems Category are: jointly in first place Khawla Ashkinani & Mira Aburraheem from Asmaa bint Alnouman Model School, in second place Fatima Yousef from Alibdaa Model School.
From stage three, in first place Maryam Abdulla, Shamma Naser, Unoud Ahmad, and Jawaher Khalil from Asmaa bint Alnouman Model School, in second place Noura Khalid, Tamara Yahyea, Rawda Jawad from Alsufouh Model School.
All winging ideas will be forwarded to the Executive Board of Emirate of Dubai to take the right action towards the execution of these ideas.
