Dubai, United Arab Emirates, November 20, 2016:  Students from Academia Management Solutions International (AMSI) – which manages Al Mawakeb Schools and International School of Arts & Sciences (ISAS) – participated in the 2016 edition of the AUD Model United Nations event held recently at the American University in Dubai (AUD).  Over 100 student delegates from all AMSI schools attended this prestigious event and distinguished themselves with their active participation and views to enhance the overall discussions at the event.

AUD Model United Nations (AUDMUN) was founded in 2009 by a small group of AUD students who were passionate about the Model United Nations. Over the years, the event has gone from strength to strength and become a significant platform for students who have benefitted through the experience and knowledge that they have gained by debating, listening, and solving global problems by forming resolutions.

“The AUD Model United Nations gives our students a truly transformative experience by providing them with a better understanding of the how the United Nations works and a forum to hone skills in diplomacy, critical thinking and public speaking, “said Mr. Redha Jishi. “We are proud of their efforts and we hope to build on this experience and get more students from our schools to take part in future events and give them an opportunity to be more involved citizens of the world by helping them to understand the responsibilities of being a world citizen.”

The AUD Model United Nations offered student delegates an opportunity, over a rigorous three-day long agenda, to discuss topics related to various arms of the United Nations such as UNDP (United Nations Development Programme), Press Corp, WHO (World Health Organization), UNICEF (United Nations Children's Fund) etc. They also got to learn from the perspectives of their peers who came from various other schools around the region.
