Dubai, UAE, October 9, 2016:   Arbor Networks Inc., the security division of NETSCOUT (NASDAQ: NTCT), announced today that it will be participating in the 36th GITEX Technology Week  that will be taking place October 16-20, 2016 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. At this year's show Arbor will present distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack landscape in the Middle East. Arbor Networks' data, sourced from more than 330 service providers, show that in the first half of 2016 Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates are amongst the top 10 most targeted countries by cyber criminals in the region. According to Arbor Networks, DDoS attacks are on the rise and the growing Internet of Things (IoT) trend in the region requires a sophisticated approach to cyber security threats.

“At GITEX, we'll be helping businesses understand the rising threat of DDoS attacks and Advanced Persistent Threats (APT) in the Middle East and how to employ effective defense practices specific to their needs. People interact with technology more than ever as part of their everyday life as well as business environment, and it is time to raise a greater awareness about importance of having strong security measures in place. Mobility creates a lot of opportunities for businesses today, but such agility will come at a great price should enterprises underestimate the dangers of unprotected cyberspace” said Mahmoud Samy, Regional Director - High Growth Markets at Arbor Networks.

Along with its latest market-leading solutions for DDoS attacks defense, Arbor will also be showcasing its new security platform for advanced threat protection - Arbor Networks Spectrum™.  Arbor Spectrum is a high performance internal network traffic analysis solution designed to detect and confirm hidden threats — in real time and retrospectively. With Spectrum, customers can discover the most damaging threats to their network by merging their own threat and network activity with Arbor's ATLAS traffic intelligence and network and traffic behavioral indicators.
