Sharjah Book Authority Wins Transform MENA Awards for Brand Development

Sharjah, June 14, 2016:  Sharjah Book Authority (SBA) has won the Transform Awards Middle East and North Africa (Transform MENA Awards 2016) for its creative branding and rebranding. The new accolade, which can be added to the authority's existing long list of achievements, comes just two weeks after it was awarded Al Owais Creative Award for Cultural Personality of the Year.

The Transform Awards recognise and share brand development work in the Middle East and North Africa region. Launched in 2008 in the UAE, the awards honour and acknowledge outstanding talent in brand development in appreciation of companies and organisations that have succeeded in redesigning their corporate identity.

Salim Omar Salim, Director of Sales and Marketing at SBA said: 'We are delighted with this new achievement, which came from the generous patronage and support of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, who has provided all facilities to ensure success, excellence and the winning of local and international awards such as this one. This is a significant honour because of the globally-acclaimed reputation enjoyed by the Transform Awards, with the scheme offering an important platform to showcase the creative works of institutions and companies in the region.'

Salim Omar added: 'At SBA we manage our projects in keeping with carefully considered planning and far-reaching marketing strategies to ensure the realisation of the best results and the fulfillment of expectations. This stems from our belief in the important role that planning plays in defining SBA's vision, mission and goals and in choosing the appropriate tools that enable us to achieve the desired results.'

Salim Omar thanked SBA's staff for their outstanding performance, which he said was instrumental in the authority being recognised with the Transform MENA Awards 2016. He underlined that SBA will push ahead with its drive towards leadership and excellence, so as to strengthen Sharjah's leading position in both the cultural and literary domains.

Established in 2014, SBA is dedicated to encouraging investment in creative industries and offering a platform for sharing knowledge and ideas between people from different countries and cultures. It strives to highlight the significant role of writers and their influence in spreading awareness of technological advancement and diverse various sources of knowledge. SBA also aims to attract stakeholders and all relevant bodies operating in the cultural sector in general and in the publishing, printing and translation of children's books in particular.
