June on National Geographic Abu Dhabi continues with a strong line-up of new series most prominently focusing on food and the health benefits of our favorite dishes with Food Files Season2. And our local productions focusing on our stories from your world bringing to you the story of the largest sewer system (STEP) project in the show: Megastructures - ADSSC (STEP) “World's Biggest Sewer”

Premieres
Series: Food Files Season 2 (13 episodes; 30 minutes each)
Premiere Date: Starting 6th June – 30th June

Synopsis: 
Foodie and health guru Nikki Muller investigates the real health benefits and risks of our favourite foods, exploring each food's origins and dispelling the many myths of nutrition. With the help of leading scientists, doctors and nutritionists, Nikki demystifies the science, translates the labels, and unravels the processes of food production. 

Through a series of fun scientific experiments and taste tests, we discover everything from the real contents of fruit juice and the addictiveness of chocolate to the health benefits of curry and spices. Fun, informative and engaging, the Food Detectives will answer all your burning questions about food and help you choose what to eat, and what not to!

Series: Megastructures - ADSSC (STEP) “World's Biggest Sewer”

Synopsis:  
This film follows a team of engineers in Abu Dhabi they race to build a massive sewer system right beneath the city streets, as the current network has reached its bursting point. Abu Dhabi's population has exploded in recent decades. But beneath the city trouble is brewing. Abu Dhabi's sewer network - built thirty years ago to service the needs of a small town - has reached bursting point. It's running beyond capacity and can no longer cope with the growth above. This film follows a team of larger than life engineers and construction workers locked in a race against time to build a replacement sewer beneath the city. It will be an extraordinary feat - a labyrinth of subterranean tunnels making up a massive sewer network, designed by the Abu Dhabi Sewerage Services Company (ADSSC) to save Abu Dhabi's citizens from a diabolic deluge.

Series: Caught In The Act Season 4 (4 episodes; 60 Minutes each)

Synopsis: 
Whether you're a wildlife cameraman or a tourist on safari, catching nature's finest moments on camera means being at the right place at the right time. That's just where you'll be when Caught in the Act launches its fourth season.

Series: Challenge The Desert 2 – Morocco
Premieres: Fri 17th June 
Tune In: Friday @ 21:00 UAE

Synopsis: CHALLENGE THE DESERT takes the audience on the biking tour of their dreams. Off-road and off the well-worn tourist trail, they'll see parts of Africa few visitors ever see. Co-presenters, Christophe Barrierre-Varju, a professional racer, and Laura Csortan an adventurer and model, will learn from each other as they battle through some of the most challenging terrain on earth. Our intrepid duo visit breath-taking historical sites, hidden deep in the desert, and discover gorgeous oasis towns that have remained untouched for thousands of years.  Along the way they'll meet tribesmen, silver miners, even astronauts preparing for a Martian mission. They'll drive across the Sahara, navigate some of the world's largest sand dunes and wind their way through mountains and valleys – hundreds of miles in near-unbearable heat, carrying their own supplies and experiencing every extreme, from the torturous midday sun to the freezing nights under a canopy of stars.  They have to conquer this extreme environment, overcoming everything this ancient land of awe and wonder can throw at them to complete their ride of a lifetime.
