As part of its on-going strategy to support and emphasize the importance of education in the UAE, Tawazun has announced its participation in two vital events for the empowerment of national youth. The first is the Emirates Skills National Competition 2016 where Tawazun is the Gold Sponsor for the event. Held under the Patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF) and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and organized by Abu Dhabi Centre for Education, Vocational and Technical training, the event is taking place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre between 10th & 12th May.

The Emirates Skills National Competition for young talent in the UAE sheds light on the talents of contestants in more than 40 different categories in Craft and Technological skills, where contestants compete with their peers according to international standards and criteria established by the referees at the World Skills Competition.

The second event was the 4th Undergraduate Student Research Competition (UGSRC) under the Patronage of H.E. Hussain Al Hammadi, Minister of Education. The one-day event, where Tawazun participated as the Silver Sponsor, took place at the Abu Dhabi University Campus on the 9th May.

During the competition 265 research projects were featured by more than 730 young Emirati students, representing almost 25 universities. Projects are presented to a judging committee that consists of 60 members.

HE Saif Mohamed Al Hajeri, Chief Executive Officer, Tawazun, said; “Tawazun takes great pride in sponsoring and participating in these important events which are borne from the company's keenness to support Emirati talent and promote creativity. Thus enabling this important segment of contributors to enhance their abilities.”

“Tawazun has placed great importance on education and training as one of the important aspects that contribute to talents and give them the experience required to achieve growth and development on the national level for employment in the future”, added Al Hajeri.

Worth noting, these competitions serve as platforms for identifying and refining Emirati talents through workshops and professional advice, and provide the opportunity to communicate with experts, teachers and representatives of the industry's most prominent players in the field of technical and vocational training.
