BOXPARK to Host 3D Art Displays, Create Floating Optical Illusions for Dubai Art Season 2016

• Street Artist Sergio Odeith's Works Set to Transform Destination
• Chance to win AED200 vouchers with #BOXPARKDoodle

Date:  01 April to 30 April, 2016

Venue: BOXPARK, Al Wasl Road

Brief:  Art aficionados in Dubai are in for a treat this Dubai Art Season, with BOXPARK, the offbeat outdoor destination by Meraas showcasing the works of acclaimed 3D street artist Sergio Odeith throughout the month of April. Visitors to the destination can experience floating art – live from 1 to 3 April near Typo and from 7 to 9 April near Nike – the result of an optical illusion created when the art exhibits are viewed from certain angles.

Popular for having fashioned large scale murals for brands such as Coca-Cola, Samsung, London Shell and Kingsmill, the Portuguese artist specialises in creating anamorphic 3D graffiti art. Odeith's work has also been showcased at the Museum of Public Art in Louisiana in the United States, the Brazilian Museum for Sculpture in São Paulo and at the renowned Meeting of Styles networking event for graffiti artists in Alemanha, Germany.

In addition, visitors to the edgy and youthful destination have the chance to win creative prizes from BOXPARK through a doodle challenge. Simply head down to any of the chalkboards located across the asset, release your inner Picasso on the boards, snap and upload your art on social media using #BOXPARKDoodle. The top three winners will be announced through their social media channels on Sunday, 17 April 2016.

Incorporating over 200 brightly-coloured containers, BOXPARK features an alternative architectural design with a funky, industrial vibe to set the tone for a cool collection of offbeat experiences along the street side.

BOXPARK has emerged as a destination of choice for the city's youth and the young at heart with its distinctive cafes like Yamaha Café, The Brownie Box and BikesnBites to appeal to motoring hobby groups, and trendy concepts such as Typo, OnePiece, Toms, Swatch and Liv that have an uber-cool aesthetic.
