Inputs sought from strategic partners to shape final outlook of Abu Dhabi Ports' 2016-2020 strategy

Abu Dhabi, UAE - March 09, 2016:  Abu Dhabi Ports, the master developer, operator and manager of ports and Khalifa Industrial Zone in the Emirate, organised a ‘Strategy Workshop with Stakeholders', in which the company shared its five-year strategy. Government stakeholders and key customers from 25 organisations participated in the event held at Abu Dhabi Ports' headquarters on Sunday, March 6.

The stakeholder representatives were presented with the Abu Dhabi Ports 2016-2020 strategy in order to provide their input and build on their capabilities for its effective implementation. The strategy, reflecting the demands and expectations of Abu Dhabi Ports' customers and stakeholders, aims to overcome newly emerged challenges in the global economy and maritime industry. It will also highlight additional opportunities aimed at supporting economic diversification in line with the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision.

“We have always been engaging with our partners and stakeholders in implementing all crucial steps of our business. This has ensured their sincere support and contribution to our business, which has demonstrated two-digit year-on-year growth in recent years, despite the new challenges in the maritime industry,” said Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, CEO of Abu Dhabi Ports.

“This workshop was organised to further strengthen that relationship - a core pillar of our business strategy,” he added.

Abu Dhabi Ports' five year strategy aims at improving customer services and business operations across all its entities. Seeking to take advantage of all available opportunities to achieve its vision and mission, the company aims to work with its stakeholders and key customers to accomplish common goals. The strategy envisions to further simplifying the procedures between Abu Dhabi Ports and other entities to improve business processes and maximise use of advanced technologies, such as the Maqta Gateway ports community system.

The participants had a chance to reflect on the challenges of ports and Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (Kizad) at the designated workshops at the event. Abu Dhabi Port has given top priority to Kizad because its integrated design with Khalifa Port has the potential to meet future demands of industrial and logistic sectors in Abu Dhabi. The strategy envisages to continuously improve the integrated services of Khalifa Port and Kizad, which offer great   opportunity, and long-term competitive commercial advantages, including exceptional supply chain efficiencies to the clients.
