Emirates Airline Festival of Literature Introduces Two New Competitions

Throw your (creative) hat in the ring

Dubai, 28 October, 2015: It's time to put your creative hats on, as the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature introduces two new competitions to the programme. In association with sponsors Emirates Airline, the inaugural edition of the Capture 380 competition was launched in early October and now organisers have partnered with long-time supporters, Costa Coffee, to debate the age-old rivalry, Coffee vs Tea.

‘These are two excellent competitions to add to our Festival's repertoire,' said Isobel Abulhoul, CEO and Trustee of the Emirates Literature Foundation and Festival Director of the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature. ‘Emirates Airline and Costa Coffee have been terrific supporters over the years, and it's no surprise that we are working together to spark a greater love for creativity and writing.

‘This is the best time to launch these competitions, actually. Our fantastic writing competitions, the Taaleem Award and the Oxford University Press Story Writing Competition, will be closing on November 15, but the writing opportunities at the Festival do not stop.'

Capture 380 combines creative writing with photography – participants submit an image based on the Festival theme ‘Time' with a caption no longer than 380 words. Open to UAE Nationals and residents between the ages of 14 and 25, the winners (one in English and one in Arabic) will be awarded four tickets each to any Emirates A380 destination in the world.

To enter the Costa Debate, convincingly argue your case for either Coffee or Tea and have the unique opportunity to win a 4-day trip to the Costa Roastery in London. Entries open to all UAE residents above the age of 14 in English and Arabic.
