Al-Futtaim Motors sponsors Dubai Women's Association Child Protection Initiative

Under the banner of “Mercy”, Al-Futtaim Motors supports protection of children against abuse

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, October 13, 2015: Al-Futtaim Motors, exclusive distributor of Toyota in the UAE, today sponsored the Dubai Women's Association “Protecting Children Against Sexual Harassment” international conference, under the patronage of HH Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, wife of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai.

Speaking at the press conference to announce the initiative, Yousuf AlRaeesi, General Manager of Government Relations and Environmental Affairs at Al-Futtaim Motors said: “This year, Al-Futtaim Motors celebrates six decades of moving the nation. During the past 60 years, we have integrated ourselves to become part of the daily lives of residents of the UAE, and that is something we pride ourselves upon.

“As an integral part of UAE society, the safety of individuals living in our communities is our utmost priority, not just when behind the wheel, but even when they are off the roads. Sponsoring this initiative highlights the importance of providing a safe environment for children to grow and develop to lead the UAE into its next chapter.”

Last year, Al-Futtaim Motors launched the Toyota Dream Car Art Contest, a global competition that allows children the express their concerns for the environment and society through art. The competition resulted in over 1,000 entries from the UAE, and a UAE resident being awarded the first ever “Engineering Inspiration Award” amongst 875,000 global entrants.

“Our children are full of great ideas and dreams that we can help them develop into reality. With our support, we can ensure a safe environment for them to nourish and grow these ideas, away from predators and wrong-doers,” continued AlRaeesi.
