Dubai, United Arab Emirates, August 5, 2015: The Dubai Health Authority has formed an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Executive Board that will be chaired by His Excellency Humaid Mohammed Obaid Al Qatami, chairman of the board of the DHA.
The six-member Board will inspect the functioning and progress of the implementation of the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) project across DHA health facilities.
His Excellency Humaid Mohammed Obaid Al Qatami, chairman of the board of the DHA, “DHA is keen to achieve its objectives of moving towards a completely paperless environment. Electronic Medical Record plays a vital role in this vision as EMR is a digital version of the traditional paper-based medical record for a patient. EMR has numerous benefits and therefore we are focusing on its implementation.”
Al Qatami said that in addition to the supervisory board for EMR, the DHA has also formed an EMR Steering Committee, which is an eleven-member team headed by Amani Al Jassmi, Director of IT at the DHA.
The committee is responsible for the development of the operational plans for the EMR Project and for monitoring its implementation. The committee will also devise performance management indicators to ensure effective implementation of the project. The steering committee will report directly to the EMR Executive Board on the progress of the project.
