The Role About the Role: We are seeking an organized and proactive Marine Coordinator to manage vessel movements, placements, and operational logistics. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating vessel schedules, berthing arrangements, and communication between vessels, port authorities, and project teams to ensure efficient and safe marine operations. Key Responsibilities: Plan and coordinate daily vessel movements including arrivals, departures, and repositioning Assign berthing locations and monitor berth occupancy to optimize space utilization Communicate with vessel masters, pilots, tug operators, and port control for smooth operations Maintain real-time vessel tracking and update movement logs Coordinate with project teams to ensure vessels are positioned correctly for loading, unloading, or operations Liaise with port authorities, customs, and immigration for vessel clearances and approvals Prepare and distribute daily vessel movement schedules to all stakeholders Monitor weather and tide conditions and advise on operational adjustments Ensure compliance with port regulations, ISPS Code, and safety protocols Coordinate bunkering, freshwater, and waste disposal services for vessels Manage vessel documentation including port entry/exit permits and cargo manifests Respond to operational changes or emergencies and adjust vessel plans accordingly Maintain accurate records of vessel movements, delays, and incidents Coordinate with marine supervisors and pilots for berthing and unberthing operations Assist in planning vessel maintenance or drydocking schedules to minimize operational impact
Requirements Qualifications & Experience: Diploma or degree in Maritime Studies, Nautical Science, Logistics, or related field Minimum 3-5 years of experience in marine coordination, vessel traffic services, or port operations Knowledge of vessel types including tugs, barges, crew boats, and offshore support vessels Familiarity with port regulations, COLREGs, and ISPS Code Experience with vessel tracking systems and communication equipment (VHF, AIS) Understanding of tide, current, and weather effects on vessel movements Proficiency in MS Office and scheduling software Valid maritime or port operations certification is an advantage Required Skills: Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Excellent communication and coordination skills Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to changes Attention to detail for scheduling and documentation Problem-solving and decision-making skills Fluency in English; knowledge of Hindi/Urdu or Arabic is a plus
