The Role Maintenance & Repair: Troubleshoot, disassemble, repair, and test hydraulic pumps, motors, actuators, valves, and cylinders. Installation: Build, install, and modify hydraulic components, including bending and flaring tubing and hose assemblies. Diagnostics: Interpret hydraulic schematics, diagrams, and blueprints to identify, diagnose, and fix system malfunctions. Preventive Care: Perform routine inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance to prevent breakdowns and extend equipment life. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of service, repair work, and equipment modifications. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, including the use of protective equipment (PPE) and maintaining a clean work area.
Requirements Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of fluid power systems, electrical principles, and mechanical components. Experience: Previous experience (often 3+ years) with hydraulic machinery, ideally in an industrial or manufacturing setting. Tool Proficiency: Skill in using specialised diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power tools. Technical Literacy: Ability to read technical manuals, CAD, or hydraulic system designs. Problem-Solving: Strong diagnostic abilities to identify and resolve complex, intermittent hydraulic issues.
