Dubai, United Arab Emirates– 25 December 2025: Dubai Police have urged members of the public to purchase tickets for concerts, entertainment events, sporting activities and travel only through official and authorised platforms.
The warning was issued by the Anti-Fraud Centre at the General Department of Criminal Investigation, as part of the ongoing #BewareOfFraud campaign led by Dubai Police.
Police explained that fraudsters are increasingly using fake websites and unverified social media pages to promote nonexistent tickets, taking advantage of high demand and limited availability. These fraudulent platforms often imitate the names or branding of well-known organisers or official entities to appear legitimate.
Victims are typically asked to transfer money or enter bank card details, only to discover later that the ticket was never issued or that unauthorised amounts have been withdrawn from their accounts.
Dubai Police stressed that tickets should only be purchased through official organiser websites or approved ticketing platforms. The public is also advised to carefully check website links, use secure payment methods, and be cautious of offers that appear significantly cheaper than standard prices.
The force called on the community to report any suspicious websites, fake platforms or attempted scams immediately through the Dubai Police smart app, by calling 901, or via the eCrime platform dedicated to reporting cybercrime.
