Abrahamic Family House Launches Final Round of Third Edition of Ahmed El-Tayeb Mosque Quran Competition

Abu Dhabi, UAE, 25 February 2026: The Abrahamic Family House launched the final round of the third edition of the Ahmed El-Tayeb Mosque Quran Competition. The award bears the name of His Eminence Dr. Ahmed El-Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar.

Organised in collaboration with the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments (AWQAF), the competition reflects the mosque's role in promoting a culture of tolerance and peaceful coexistence. It also aligns with its vision to encourage youth and children to memorise the Holy Quran and internalise its meanings, strengthening their connection to Quranic values and inspiring them to apply them in their daily lives.

Dr. Mahmoud Nagah, Imam for Eminence Ahmed El-Tayeb Mosque, said: "The third edition of the competition was launched in line with the UAE leadership's directives to reinforce Islamic values among youth, and encourage them to uphold these values through adherence to the Holy Quran."

Under the supervision of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments (AWQAF), the competition's final rounds will be held over a two-week period during the month of February at the Eminence Ahmed El-Tayeb Mosque. Contestants from across the UAE are participating, representing various age groups and nationalities, both male and female.

Over 180 male and female participants are competing across five categories: memorisation of the entire Holy Quran; memorisation of 20 juz'; half of the Holy Quran; 10 juz'; and 5 juz'. Following the final rounds, the mosque will host a ceremony to honour the winners. This ceremony will be attended by scholars and senior officials.

The Eminence Ahmed El-Tayeb Mosque at the Abrahamic Family House continues to fulfill its religious and humanitarian mission by organising year-round events and educational programs, including Quran teaching and memorisation classes, lectures, workshops, and seminars. These events foster a culture of tolerance and peaceful coexistence among different religions and cultures.

This stems from the mosque's symbolic status within the Abrahamic Family House, which supports the signing of the Document on Human Fraternity and serves as a practical embodiment of its principles calling for dialogue, rapprochement among peoples, the consolidation of peace, and the promotion of shared human values.
