HBMSU and Alexandria University to offer first joint academic program

UAE, 01 November 2021: Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU) has become the first UAE university to forge, launch and execute a strategic academic collaboration with Alexandria University, one of the largest Egyptian universities and one of the most prestigious regionally and globally. The collaboration’s first achievement is represented in a joint offer of one of HBMSU’s prominent accredited programs which is Master of Science in Innovation and Change Management.
In order to activate the partnership between both universities, HBMSU delegation led by Chancellor H.E. Dr. Mansoor Al Awar visited Alexandria University in Egypt, and witnessed, along with Alexandria University’s top officials and administrative executives spearheaded by its President, Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, and Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, Dr. Ashraf El Ghandour, the landmark launch of the first batch of the joint program,
Commenting on the historic cooperation between the two premier universities, Al Awar said: “It is a unique precedent at the country level to be added to the achievement portfolio of the smart university, and there is no doubt that the best to achieve such a precedent is a university that is proud of its belonging to the UAE, and to Dubai in particular.” Al Awar added: “The Master of Science in Innovation and Change Management is the first program in the UAE and the Arab world to obtain the accreditation of the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. It is also the first of its kind to be approved for teaching at Alexandria University, a globally renowned institution, and the first in Egypt to win an entrepreneurship awards given by the European Union. This achievement is an excellent example of academic integration of HBMSU’s leadership in the field of smart learning and Alexandria University’s legacy.”
Al Awar concluded: “We are proud that the program that HBMSU jointly offers with the prestigious Alexandria University has received the approval of and has been accredited by the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education. It demonstrates the excellence and quality of HBMSU’s academic programs and further confirms our leadership in the Arab world’s smart learning system, is in line with the directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and President of the University.”
During HBMSU’s visit to Egypt, the two sides discussed further the mechanisms in implementing the joint Master’s program in accordance with their agreement. Both parties also recognized the importance of their cooperation in setting an example for academic and scientific communities in the UAE and Egypt to follow in their quest to advance higher education in the Arab region and the world.
While in the country, Al Awar also took the opportunity to visit Al Alamein International University where he met with its President, H.E. Prof. Essam Al Kurdi, to discuss cooperation prospects. Al Awar reiterated HBMSU’s commitment to strengthen its collaboration with well-established and well-reputed Egyptian universities that are known globally for their great scientific and cumulative knowledge and accomplishments. During the visit, Prof Al Kurdi praised HBMSU’s leadership and achievements at the regional and global levels.
