AUE Launches Another Unique Program in Special Education

Dubai - The American University in the Emirates (AUE)

September 5th, 2021:  In line with the UAE national strategy to provide future generations with the necessary technical and practical skills to drive the economy, 

the American University in the Emirates (AUE) has launched a four-year Bachelor's degree in Special Education starting September 5th, 2021 with the start of its new academic year.  The offering of this program addresses the major pillars of UAE Centennial 2071 and focuses on equity and inclusion for all students.
 The program seeks to contribute to developing highly qualified special educators, who will be able to address the varying exceptional abilities and needs of the students of determination and gifted students enrolled at different educational levels, particularly in kindergarten and primary school stages, whether in public or private sector institutions. 

“This program is for all those who aspire to serve their community, to make a tremendous positive impact through their specialized knowledge and expertise in differentiated instruction to address the diverse and complex needs of all students, particularly those with special needs”, states the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Prof Singh.
 
The concept for this program has been initiated as per the wise leadership's directives. Along with striving to provide high-quality services in accordance with the best international standards, with the purpose of enhancing the quality of life of people of determination at various stages of life, the program aims at shedding light on the importance of advanced education and integrating students of determination with their peers within inclusive classes. This will be accomplished by incorporating a variety of teaching pedagogy designed to satisfy the educational needs of all students.
