Abu Dhabi University Wins ‘Workspace Transformation of the Year' Award

ADU’s Director of Information Management & Technology Department (IMT) has been selected as “Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the Year” in the education category
Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates— 17 August 2021: Abu Dhabi University (ADU), an internationally-recognized academic institution, has received the “Workspace Transformation of the Year” award in the education category at the Future Workspace Summit & Awards, held in Dubai by Leap Media Solutions, publishers of CXO DX, the region’s leading content platform. During the event, ADU has been recognized as one of the two universities in the UAE to have created well-executed, high performing digital workspace environments.
The award aims to acknowledge resilience and excellence in not just enabling but also securing the future of work by defining the role of technology. With the support of the Information Management & Technology Department (IMT) at ADU, the university has implemented a wide variety of technical solutions that utilized hybrid digital services to ensure that faculty and student engagement is constantly aligned with higher standards of education.
ADU has seamlessly adopted cloud-based platforms and systems to ensure the community’s needs and expectations are met. These platforms ensure the learning management system in ADU is relevant, effective and secure. ADU builds a productive environment regardless of location, empowering students and faculty members to virtually stay connected with one another as well as work more efficiently from anywhere in the world.
In addition, ADU’s Information Management and Technology Director, Joseph Aninias, has been selected as “Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the Year” in the education category for demonstrating superlative initiatives during the year in keeping his organization up to speed even in the face of the pandemic. Aninias has served and fostered students and researchers with cutting-edge equipment and has led the deployment of a more cloud-focused Learning Management System (LMS) that ensures ADU is offering a comprehensive, high quality learning experience to its community.

“The IMT department at ADU continuously pushes boundaries to provide centralized technology support to ensure a flexible ecosystem is being provided to the people of the UAE and beyond. We are constantly adapting our strategy and structure to capture opportunities enabled by digital technology, and currently we are in the process of refreshing and updating our faculty end-user devices, such as laptops and ancillary hardware, to successfully deliver the right products and services to our community”, he added.
