Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates—23 February 2020: Abu Dhabi University (ADU) hosted the second edition of the science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) competition in a bid to create unique solutions to real world challenges. Held at ADU’s Al Ain campus, the competition brought together over 700 students from 32 public and private high schools in Al Ain.
Led by supervisors from their schools, contestants brainstormed practical solutions and put their knowledge to the test by answering a set of thought-provoking mathematical, science, technology, and engineering questions.
Dr. Hamad Odhabi, Campus Director for ADU Al Ain, commented, “Now in its second year, the STEM competition reflects Abu Dhabi University’s 2022 vision, in line with the UAE Government’s National Agenda to foster leadership, innovation and ambition. This competition allows students to improve their skills in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) and encourages them to pursue careers in STEM - which will continue to be in demand. ADU will continue its work to empower the UAE’s young minds by developing well-rounded leaders for the future, capable of contributing to the UAE’s economy and able to embrace the digitally driven and fast-evolving world in which we live.”
