Demand for online schooling has soared in recent weeks as parents within Dubai have opted for a more affordable school option in iCademy Middle East (formerly K12 Middle East), the online American Curriculum School accredited by the KHDA. The fees for the online school range from 18,332.00 AED within the Kindergarten to 27,172.00 AED in Grade 12.
The school has grown by 12% recently as the flexible learning environment which incorporates technology and hands on learning has proven to be a popular choice for some parents. As an online school, iCademy Middle East works with families to understand their circumstances and their child’s individual learning needs. The school caters for children who are aspiring athletes or musicians with busy schedules; children struggling to get into a mainstream school; children who benefit from more personalized learning and for children with special educational needs.
Cody Claver, General Manager of iCademy Middle East commented “We’ve seen a spike in enrollment recently as many families have come to us who have been looking for a more affordable and more flexible option for their children. Double digit growth of over 12% annually is a great indicator that our offering is unique to the UAE education landscape.”
Existing parents within the school were recently surveyed and 93% of believe that the online school platform is a suitable learning environment for their child/children. Furthermore, 82% of families believe that the low teacher to student ratio helps meet their child’s individual learning needs. Crucially, almost all of K12 parents felt that they were provided with all the materials, including textbooks and equipment needed to help their child study proving that the school provides real value for money.
The parental satisfaction and the student enrollment growth this year indicate that affordability and flexibility are two critical factors that parents are now considering when it comes to choosing a school. As school fees in the region continue to rise with the cost of the living, more parents may opt for the online school which caters to their needs.
