- The Chronoliner Blacksteel is now available in Breitling Boutiques and stores across the Middle East
Dubai, UAE, August 21, 2016: Luxury Swiss watchmaker and aviation chronograph specialist, Breitling has announced the arrival of an all-new version of the Chronoliner model. Now ready for take-off in the Middle East market, the Chronoliner Blacksteel teams a high-tech ceramic bezel with a black steel case, along with a matching dial and rubber strap.
Providing a technical and elegant uniform for the authentic flight captain’s watch, the new model is equipped with a steel case coated with a high-resistance carbon-based treatment. The watch’s dark touch continues on the dial which features tone-on-tone counters, as well as on the original rubber strap which picks up the design of the steel mesh Aero Classic bracelets.
The new Chronoliner combines the two most useful functions for Middle East pilots and globetrotters: a chronograph to measure flight times and a triple timezone display to juggle with the time around the world. The second timezone in 24-hour mode (useful for distinguishing between day and night) is indicated by a red-tipped central hand, while the bidirectional rotating bezel serves to read off a third time zone, also in 24-hour mode.
Commenting on the model’s arrival in the region, Aed Adwan, Breitling Middle East, said: “Following the success of the steel model and the red gold limited series, Breitling introduces this triple timezone chronograph, inspired by a watch from the 1950s-1960s, in an all-black new livery that accentuates its original and timeless style. Making a statement on the wrist, the white and silver indications stand out clearly against the black background, in keeping with the finest traditions of aviator watches.”
The back of the model bears a depiction of the stylized planes that were a long-time Breitling signature. All the model’s functions are precisely and reliably powered by a self-winding chronograph movement that is chronometer-certified by the COSC (Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute).
