In this holy month of Ramadan, Skyline University College (SUC) has organized an Iftar Party followed by a Cricket Match for 250 Sharjah laborers on June 23, 2016.
Known as the month of fasting, benevolence, and social cooperation, the holy month of Ramadan in UAE witnesses a number of activities, festivals, and charity programs organized by different organizations. SUC also believes in taking part is such activities as a part of the community services. In line with SUC’s commitment towards society and its social responsibility, the occasion was aimed at acknowledging the laborers’ hard-work while having been away from their families in a traditional Muslim Iftar dinner. The Iftar dinner was followed immediately by a cricket match played by laborers under the flood lights of SUC cricket ground.
Through SUC’s conscious effort to promote social awareness and responsible social involvement, this event has brought together not only the laborer guests but also the alumni, students and parents, faculty and staff of the university regardless of cultural and religious beliefs. The event was indeed a celebration of a good cause which has resulted in amity and good camaraderie among each guest.
The occasion has been made possible through the joint effort of SUC Community Services Committee and SUC Corporate Affairs Office. SUC has been working persistently to carry out its mission of providing quality education and also inculcating community services among students who are the torch bearers of tomorrow.
