SLIDE DOWN DUBAI’S SKI SLOPES

Ski Dubai in the Emirates Mall that opened its doors in December 2005 is the world’s third largest indoor ski slope, measuring 400 meters and using 6000 tons of snow. Ski Dubai resort is the first Dubai indoor ski slope to open.

The world’s largest Snow Park is nowhere else but at Ski Dubai. Lying on 3000 square meters of snow, the park is a one of a kind attraction that leaves you breathless.

At the Snow Park you won’t meet boredom; go crazy in the tobogganing hills, or in a twin track bobsled ride. Also, a snowball throwing gallery and a snow cavern filled with interactive experiences and amazing sights and sounds await you for an unforgettable journey. A large observation tower offers a perfect view of the Ski Dubai main slope. Parents can engage in recreation with their children while building a snowman and playing on the hills.

Enrolling in a class is the quickest and safest way to learn to ski or snowboard. Being together with other people of the same ability is a crucial confidence-builder: you are no longer the worst on the slope, only one of the worst :)

Ski Dubai lessons are offered on a private slope for beginner and level 1 lessons to allow learners to develop effective skills in a controlled environment where safety is a priority. Intermediate skiers and snowboarders are instructed on blue and red groomed runs, reached via flying carpets lifts and the Nokia Express chairlift. For those with more experience or at expert level, more challenging areas are available such as the Snickers Freestyle zone, temporary race runs and the world's first indoor run.

GROUP LESSONS

An excellent way to learn is to learn with a group of maximum 8 to 10 skiers/boarders of the same ability. The session lasts 90 minutes but can be shortened to 1 hour for adults groups of less than 3 people. Junior programs for children less than 6 years are shortened to 60 minutes and children who get tired can rest until the end of the session in the Snow Park. A professional instructor will help warm up, practice using the latest techniques and have fun!

First-timers are required to take the Discovery group lesson which lasts for 1 hour and through which they will get initiated to the equipment and basics of skiing or snowboarding. A second Dubai indoor ski slope is the Dubai Sunny Mountain Ski Dome in Dubailand which is due to open in 2008. It will provide a great attraction, featuring a revolving ski slope, an artificial mountain range, an ice bridge, a cable lift, a snow maze, an ice slide, polar bears cold water-aquaria and special sound and light effects.
