Malabar Gold & Diamonds sets aside AED 1.5 Million for CSR activities during Ramadan

- Malabar Gold & Diamonds partners with regional associations and like-minded organizations in GCC and Far East to distribute Iftar meals and food provision kits.
- Food provision kits and meals will be distributed to laborers and families.
Malabar Gold & Diamonds, one of the largest global jewellery retailers amplifies the spirit of Ramadan by strengthening its CSR activities in the GCC and Far East. The brand has planned month-long CSR activities in association with embassies, and like-minded organizations, which include the distribution of food provision kits and Iftar meals to deserving laborers and families. This initiative is expected to benefit a large section of the society across all countries in which Malabar Gold & Diamonds operates.
‘CSR remains a core value at Malabar Gold & Diamonds ever since its inception in 1993 and contributing to the community has been a key part of the company’s ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) goals. Ramadan is usually the time we reflect on our actions and contribute to society in whatever way possible. Every year during Ramadan, we engage in various CSR initiatives, aiming to create a difference in the community in and around our area of operations and to drive other organizations, both big and small to initiate such activities that will help the needy.’ said Mr. Abdul Salam KP, Vice Chairman – Malabar Group.
Malabar Gold & Diamonds will distribute both Iftar meals and food provision kits as part of this Ramadan CSR initiative. In UAE, Iftar meals will be distributed across various labor camps in Jebel Ali, Sonapur, and the Sajja industrial area in addition to several needy families residing in Ajman, individuals who have lost their job, and those on visit visas, etc. The food donation drive is being conducted in association with CDA, UAE Food Bank, Dubai Police, MSS, AKCAF, KMCC as well as through the references provided by customers of Malabar Gold & Diamonds.
