DSF Guinness World Records event begins with ‘largest youla gathering' attempt on Feb 21
Signature event of DSF to include exciting record-breaking attempts this year
After the successful launch of Dubai Records, DSF 2008 will witness the Guinness World Records events between Feb 21 and 23, providing three days of record-breaking spectacle. The first among these events will be an attempt to form the largest youla gathering between 3pm and 4:30pm on Feb 21 at the Creek Park. The attempt will be to break the existing record of the largest traditional dance gathering.
The youla, a popular local art form, hopes to attract hundreds of participants and break the existing world record. Yousif Mubarak, DSF Events, Operations, and Logistics Director said, “The largest youla gathering brings together the elements of record-breaking and also the element of the local tradition and culture of which youla is an important part. The DSF Office invites every resident in Dubai to be part of the collective endeavour to break another set of world records through the Guinness World Records events this DSF.”
Those wishing to participate in the youla record can call Ahlan Dubai on 600 54 5555 to register and obtain more information.
This year's Guinness World Records activities also include interactive records to encourage more local participation. These include the ‘Longest coin spinning duration', ‘Longest duration of football control', and ‘Most of number of hoops during hula hooping'.
The interactive records will be held everyday from Feb 21 till Feb 23. Additionally, other record breaking attempts will be made during the three-day event.
