Ramadan of Hope at Mandarin Oriental Jumeira, Dubai
Last Update: Monday, March 14, 2022 : 16:01 (+4GMT)
Dubai, 14 March 2022: This Ramadan, Mandarin Oriental Jumeira, Dubai collaborates with not-for-profit organisation, Ray of Hope, and famed Emirati artist Abdulla Lutfi to raise awareness about Autism, as the beginning of the Holy Month this year coincides with World Autism Day.
As an artist on the autism spectrum, Abdulla sees and interprets the world in a unique and extraordinary way. To empower its colleagues to connect with their local community, engage directly with social causes and help create positive change, Mandarin Oriental Jumeira, Dubai organised a meaningful workshop whereby artists of determination met with team members from the hotel to exchange ideas, lessons and team-building activities.
Abdulla led drawing classes to teach his distinct black and white drawing technique with bold line drawings, before the group got together to work on a unique fan-shaped canvas capturing the beauty of Ramadan through the lenses of the Ray of Hope artists.
The bespoke Ramadan Fan will be displayed in The Bay throughout the Holy Month, and guests enjoying Iftar and Suhoor can visit and see this beautiful piece that is both a visual testament to the power of cultural exchange and inclusivity, and an evocative tribute to the Mandarin Oriental legacy.
A Delightful Iftar by the Sea
A tantalising Iftar feast awaits guests at beachside brasserie, The Bay, this Ramadan – which will serve a lavish spread of Moroccan, Lebanese, Syrian and other Middle Eastern classics in a buffet setting, along with international cuisines from live cooking stations.
Guests can break their fast with an appetising variety of hot and cold mezza from Syria and Morocco, along with signature fresh salads from the Maghreb such as Taktouka and Zalouk, with delightful sides of hummus and fattoush and a nourishing Harira soup. Other exciting options for hot starters include Chicken Briwat, crispy and savoury Moroccan pastries; Lamb Makanik and spicy Lebanese sausages.
