Le Gourmet Dedicates New Dessert Line to Women

In time for International Women’s Day, talented pastry chef Dany Mouawad has launched a new dessert line at Le Gourmet in Galeries Lafayette. 

Designed to celebrate women and their myriad facets, the macarons feature words of empowerment and come in a variety of delightful flavours including lemon and vanilla, raspberry and rose.

A complimentary dessert will be served to all women on the 8th of March when they dine-in at Le Gourmet. These signature desserts are also available for pre-order on 056 545 2558 from 1 – 8 March. 

The gourmet food haven in Galeries Lafayette is also a long-time supporter of Mira, a social enterprise by Fatima Bint Mohamed Bin Zayed Initiative that aims to empower the world’s most underprivileged communities by creating a market to sell their produce globally, with all profits invested back into the community. 

Committed to women empowerment, the initiative currently works with 600 female farmers in Afghanistan harvesting saffron in the province of Herat, 1,000 female farmers picking dried fruits and nuts all around the country and employing 42 women in processing centres. The ripple effect of empowerment has extended to 17,000 indirect beneficiaries of these efforts through their communities.
