Dubai Gold Souk lures Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan

Bollywood actor visits Kanz Jewels, one of the largest stores in Gold Souk

Dubai, UAE, May 3rd, 2016:  Kanz Jewels, one of UAE’s leading and oldest jewellery brands, played host to the charming and suave Bollywood star Irrfan Khan during his visit to the Gold Souk. Irfan Khan is an Indian actor known for his roles in several Bollywood movies, British films and Hollywood blockbusters. Film critics, contemporaries and other experts consider him to be one of the finest actors in Indian cinema for his versatile and nuanced performances.

He was impressed by one of the world’s largest gold rings that is currently displayed at our store.  We are proud to say that we are one of the only few gold stores in Dubai that has attracted a mix of Bollywood, Hollywood and several international sports personalities,” said Anil Dhanak, Managing Director, Kanz Jewels.

In the past Kanz store was used as a set for the Bollywood movie ‘Welcome Back’, which had a star cast of Anil Kapoor, John Abraham, Nana Patekar and Dimple Kapadia.

Irrfan has acted in over 50 Indian films in Bollywood, as well as some of Hollywood’s big budget movies like the Life of Pi and Jurassic World. He also features in a meaty role alongside Tom Hanks in the 2016 adaptation of Dan Brown's novel Inferno. In September 2015, he was appointed as the brand ambassador for ‘Resurgent Rajasthan’, a campaign by the state government of Rajasthan.

In the recent past, several celebrities including Hollywood actors Nicholas Cage, Steven Siegal and cricketers such as Clive Lloyd, Brian Lara, Hashim Amla, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Lasith Malinga have visited the store. Bollywood artists such as Jackie Shroff, Suniel Shetty, Gulshan Grover, Anil Kapoor, Dimple Kapadia, Rajat Rawail, Firoz Nadiadwala, Neeraj Vora and Anees Bazmee have also visited the store on many occasions.  American celebrity Zendaya Maree Stoermer Coleman and Tennis stalwarts Martina Hingis and Leander Paes have also visited the store in the past.

Irrfan Khan has won several awards in his illustrious career. He also won the National Film Award for Best Actor for his powerful performance in Paan Singh Tomar.

With staff strength of over 200 people, Kanz has seven outlets in Dubai Gold Souk, one outlet in Gold and Diamond Park and also has a state-of-the-art workshop for jewellery manufacturing. Kanz is further expanding its presence in Dubai with another upcoming store in Meena Bazaar, Bur Dubai.
