    Emirates signs deal for 40 A330-900s, 30 A350-900s

    DC Aviation Group completes major maintenance check on Challenger 850 aircraft

    Dubai, United Arab Emirates, February 14, 2019: Stuttgart headquartered DC Aviation Group (DCA), the German joint venture partner of DC Aviation Al-Futtaim (DCAF), has successfully completed a full 96-month major check on a Challenger 850 aircraft.  The comprehensive maintenance work which was carried out at DCA’s Maintenance Service Centre located at Stuttgart Airport, included a full cabin refurbishment, using choice wood, finest leather and plush carpets.     Healthy Passenger Demand Continues in 2018 with Another Record Load Factor

    7 February 2019 United Arab Emirates:  The International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced global passenger traffic results for 2018 showing that demand (revenue passenger kilometers or RPKs) rose by a healthy 6.5% compared to full-year 2017. Although this represented a slowdown compared to the 2017 annual growth of 8.0%, it was another year of above-trend growth.     Air Freight Demand Ends Year Up 3.5%, Despite Softening Late 2018

    6 February 2019  (Dubai, UAE) – The International Air Transport Association (IATA) released full-year 2018 data for global air freight markets showing that demand, measured in freight tonne kilometers (FTKs) grew by 3.5% compared to 2017. This was significantly lower than the extraordinary 9.7% growth recorded in 2017.     Freight capacity, measured in available freight tonne kilometers (AFTKs), rose by 5.4% in 2018, outpacing annual growth in demand. This exerted downward pressure on the load factor but yields proved resilient.    Air cargo’s performance in 2018 was sealed by a softening in demand in December.
