    Etihad Airways Adds Second Daily Flight to Rome

    Abu Dhabi, UAE, February 22, 2018:  Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), today announced the addition of a second daily direct flight from its Abu Dhabi hub to Rome, effective 25 March 2018. The new service will take the total number of Etihad Airways’ flights on the route to 14 a week.   The additional frequencies will be introduced in phases, beginning 25 March 2018, with five extra weekly flights, rising to a twice-a-day service from 1 May 2018.   The double-daily schedule will provide greater choice to local passengers travelling between the capital cities of the UAE and Italy, and further increase connectivity to and from both countries.   The new early morning departure from Abu Dhabi and midday return service from Rome will offer links to popular cities ......read more

    Finnair extends the operating period for its Chicago and San Francisco routes

    Dubai, UAE, February 21, 2018:  Finnair is extending the operating period for both its Chicago and San Francisco routes during the upcoming fall. The Helsinki-Chicago route will be extended until December 3 with two weekly flights. Originally, the route was set to operate from April 19 until October 27. Chicago is the largest city in the American Midwest and a global hub for business, leisure and the arts. Finnair started a seasonal service to Chicago during the summer of 2015. The Helsinki-San Francisco route will now be extended until December 5 with two weekly frequencies. Originally, the route was to be operated from May 3 until September 27.  San Francisco is well-known for its buzzing food scene, hilly terrain, Victorian architecture and proximity to Silicon Valley.     Finnair opens direct flights to Minsk, the capital of Belarus

    Dubai, UAE, February 21, 2018:  Finnair is expanding its network and will open a direct, year-round route between Helsinki and Minsk on June 9, 2018. Flights between Helsinki and Minsk will be operated twice per week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, with an Embraer 190 aircraft. Currently, Finnair also co-operates with Belavia on the Helsinki-Minsk route and Finnair’s own flights will bring the total amount of weekly flights up to five.  Minsk is well known for its history, architecture and cultural arts scene.     Emirates to operate first ever A380 to Beirut

    Historic one-off flight to test airport’s A380 operations and readiness  Dubai, UAE, 20 February 2018:   For the first time in Rafic Al Hariri International Airport’s history, Emirates will operate a special one-off A380 service to Beirut on 29 March. The airline’s flagship double-decker will become the first-ever scheduled A380 service to Beirut, and Emirates is working with the airport to test the operations and necessary infrastructure to accommodate an A380 service.     Airline resumes second daily service to the city  DUBAI, U.A.E., 20 February, 2018 –   Emirates today announced it will resume a second daily service to Portugal’s capital, Lisbon, from 1 June 2018.     Emirates SkyCargo transports first space satellite manufactured in the UAE

    Dubai, UAE, 15 Feb 2018-   Emirates SkyCargo, the freight division of Emirates, has transported KhalifaSat- the first satellite developed and built by Emirati engineers in the UAE at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC). As the first step in its journey to space, KhalifaSat was flown from Dubai to Incheon International Airport in South Korea on an Emirates SkyCargo Boeing 777 freighter aircraft that was specially chartered for the occasion.     Etihad Aviation Group Launches Humanitarian Aid Mission for Rohingya Refugees

    Dubai, UAE, February 14, 2018:  Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates - Etihad Aviation Group (EAG) has launched a humanitarian aid mission in support of Rohingya refugee families.     Emirates firms up order for up to 36 additional A380s

    Passenger Demand Moderates from Recent Peak but Stays Strong

    9 July 2017 (Dubai, UAE) - The International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced global passenger traffic results for May showing that demand (measured in revenue passenger kilometers, or RPKs) rose 7.7% compared to the same month in 2016. This was slower than the 10.9% growth recorded in April. However, this still was well ahead of the 5- and 10-year average growth rates.     Global Air Freight Demand Increases 13% in May

    Dubai, UAE, July 6, 2017:  The International Air Transport Association (IATA) released data for global air freight markets showing that demand, measured in freight tonne kilometers (FTKs), grew 12.7% in May 2017 compared to the year-earlier period.
