    Emirates receives IATA 753 compliance certification for baggage operations in its Dubai hub

    Dubai, UAE, July 16, 2018:  Emirates has been awarded IATA 753 compliance certification for its baggage operation in its home base of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The certification underlines the carrier’s capabilities to diligently track bags that flow through its Dubai hub for departing, arriving and connecting customers.   IATA Resolution 753 requires airlines to track bags at four specific points in the baggage journey to ensure that at any time the status of each bag is known, facilitating a more pro-active customer approach to managing baggage challenges.    To achieve certification Emirates developed an integrated Baggage Management System (BMS) in-house called Wasla to provide full control of its worldwide baggage operations.     DC Aviation Al-Futtaim expands managed aircraft fleet

    Emirates makes history with one-off A380 touchdown in Islamabad

    Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, July  08, 2018:  Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, has launched two specialised services for air travellers with pre-existing medical conditions, ensuring continuity of care and in-flight safety.     Emirates to operate extra flights for busy Hajj season

    Dubai, UAE, July 05, 2018:  Emirates will be operating extra flights to Jeddah and Medina to help facilitate travel for pilgrims heading to and from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for Hajj.     Air Freight Growth Continues to Grow Modestly in May, Up 4.2%

    Dubai, UAE, July 05, 2018:  The International Air Transport Association (IATA) released data for global air freight markets showing that demand, measured in freight tonne kilometers (FTKs), rose 4.2% in May 2018, compared to the same period the year before. This was slightly down from the 5.2% (revised from 4.1%) growth in annual demand recorded in April 2018.   Freight capacity, measured in available freight tonne kilometers (AFTKs), grew by 6.2% year-on-year in May 2018. This was the fourth month in a row that capacity growth outstripped demand growth.    After a weak start to 2018, demand for global air freight has now resumed a modest trend upwards.     Emirates Engineering reconfigures second Boeing 777-200LR aircraft

    Dubai, UAE, 05 July 2018-   Emirates Engineering has successfully completed the reconfiguration of the second Boeing 777-200LR aircraft in its fleet. The conversion of the aircraft from three to two cabin classes was executed fully in-house at the Emirates Engineering hangars in Dubai. The reconfigured aircraft also features new, wider Business class seats in a 2-2-2 format, a new social area in business class, as well as a fully refreshed Economy class providing customers a superior inflight experience.     Dubai, UAE, July 04, 2018:  The International Air Transport Association (IATA) can confirm that rumors claiming that Jazeera Airways is no longer an IATA member airline and IOSA registered carrier are incorrect.  Jazeera Airways has been an IATA Member since 19 May 2011 and is an IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) certified airline.     Muscat, Oman, June 28, 2018 - The Board of the International Atherosclerosis Society (IAS) has just announced at the General Assembly at the ISA 2018 (the XVIIIth International Symposium on Atherosclerosis) in Toronto, Canada that the Oman Society of Lipid & Atherosclerosis (OSLA) has won the bid to host the Triennial International Symposium on Atherosclerosis in 2024 in the Sultanate of Oman.
