The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship announced that it will start implementing select decisions of the Cabinet of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) regarding residence permits and visitor visas. It is expected that on 21 October 2018 the following regulations will come into effect:
Residence permits for widowed or divorced women
A one-year residence permit will be available to women and their children residing in the UAE without a sponsor due to a divorce or death of their husband, under the following conditions:
The principal applicant must have a financial ability to support her dependents;
All applicants above 18 must be medically fit (a medical examination is required);
Residence permits sponsored by a deceased or former husband must be valid at ......read more

ABU DHABI, 17 October 2018: Today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MOFAIC) and the Abu Dhabi Department of Urban Planning and Municipalities signed an Agreement with the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) for Abu Dhabi to host the tenth session of the World Urban Forum (WUF10) in 2020. Dubai – 13 October 2018: The Dubai Business Women Council (DBWC) announced that its total membership has increased by 36.5% during the first three quarters of the year. The council added 216 new members during this period, 50 of whom joined during the third quarter of 2018. The new members bring the total number of DBWC members up to 807, which is an increase from 591 members at the start of the year.
The increase in the DBWC membership reflects the important role that the council plays in supporting business women and enhancing their competitiveness in the country’s labour market.

Dubai, UAE, October 10, 2018: British citizens travelling to Saudi Arabia will soon be eligible for multiple-entry visit visas valid for up to five years.
This comes as a result of an approved Memorandum of Understanding between the governments of Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom, that aims at facilitating the issuance of visit visas to citizens of both countries travelling for tourism, business, family visit or medical treatment.
The new law will come into force once all necessary legal procedures have been completed by the contracting parties.
