Abu Dhabi, February 16, 2019: Lama Ahmad, Class of 2019, has been named as a recipient to the prestigious Luce Scholars Program, the first student from NYU Abu Dhabi to receive this award.
Founded by the Henry Luce Foundation in 1974 to enhance the understanding of Asia among potential leaders in the American society, the program provides stipends, language training, and individualized professional placement in Asia for 15 to18 Luce Scholars every year. UAE, 12 February 2019: Over 600 local pupils from 35 schools in Abu Dhabi have participated in a workshop to learn more about the Special Olympics movement and its values of inclusion and tolerance.
The local schoolchildren have been elected as ‘Unified Champions’ by their teachers and will head back to their respective schools to spread the message of the movement and encourage their fellow pupils to be more inclusive.
