A new regional creative platform celebrating the talent and creativity behind the moving images of the global fashion industry
Dubai, UAE 21 December 2014 – Digital Fashion Film Festival today announces its entry into the UAE's creative marketplace. The concept of this new platform is to celebrate the disciplines of film making and moving image production in the fashion and fashion-lifestyle industries on both a regional and global scale. The festival will take place in various locations around Dubai; a city that has been selected on the merits of its growing importance as a world-class centre for fashion, film and art, culminating in an awards ceremony planned for December 2015.
DFFF has been founded around the idea of inspiration, education and community, with the dual aims of increase awareness of Dubai as a viable destination for digital new media production, in addition to championing new talent, positioning it alongside work of more established, international peers. In what is planned as an annual event, the festival will showcase innovations in creative fashion films, editorial fashion concepts, commissioned film content and branded film content through a dynamic series of engaging events, premiers, screenings and community activations.
Integral to DFFF will be the process of submitting, judging and announcing a number of award entries, with categories based on a study of similar festivals around the world, whilst tailored around the unique needs of the GCC. A jury will be announced in early 2015, comprising key individuals from the film, creative, fashion media and talent management sectors. In addition to a content rich website, an app is also planned, immersing consumers in the idea of fashion film and connecting them with partners and sponsors.
