• Lenovo unleashes its first commercial platform part of the Project Athena program
• New ThinkPad X1 Carbon 7th Gen, joined by Yoga C940 and S740 to get Smarter via 10th Gen Intel® Core™ processors
• Lenovo's Project Athena Lineup: Designed and engineered to address the needs of a new generation workforce and their dynamic workspaces

DUBAI, October 28, 2019 – Recently unveiled at IFA Berlin 2019, Lenovo's new laptops are amongst the first devices on the market to be verified as part of Intel's Project Athena innovation program, delivering a more intuitive, focus-enabling experience for the modern workforce of today.

The partnership sees Lenovo's new ThinkPad and Yoga devices benefitting from 10th Gen Intel® Core™ processors to deliver unparalleled performance and productivity for users who require connectivity on-the-go.

A paradigm shift for laptop computing

Through the power of advanced research and innovative thinking, Project Athena is set to usher in a host of new enhancements for Lenovo laptop users around the world. These new devices will be designed to light up in a flash thanks to the Instant Resume feature – enabling them to wake up from sleep in less than a second. In addition to delivering super-fast connectivity, Project Athena laptops will also feature unrivalled battery life and can provide up to four-hour battery life in just a 30-minute quick charge.

Built-in AI and advanced voice assistance will sense the needs of the user, optimizing performance and responding intelligently to better meet each person's requirements. Screen viewing areas will expand, with thinner bezels that allow for far more immersive displays.

Lenovo's new laptops are redesigned from the ground up to offer the highest quality performance, whether interaction involves a pen, one's voice or touch. The next generation of Lenovo laptops are designed to be amongst the thinnest, lightest and most powerful Intel-powered devices.

“There is no doubt that the future of the workplace is changing. Our customer insights have indicated growing demand from younger consumers for devices, which can facilitate more agile, flexible working practices. Whether working from the office, home, or on-the-go, with the integration of Project Athena in our new ThinkPad and Yoga laptops, Lenovo can deliver unrivalled experiences with greater speed, security and intuitiveness. We look forward to continuing to work closely with Intel, pushing the boundaries of innovation to create technology, which empowers our customers to meet their objectives and achieve more,” said Mohammed Hilili, Lenovo General Manager Gulf, Saudi Arabia & East Africa.

“Our Project Athena innovation program brings together some of the industry's boldest thinkers and social scientists to truly reimagine the laptop experience. Our extensive research and testing have resulted in a range of devices that set a new standard for foundational laptop experiences critical to helping the most ambitious, on-the-go people focus and achieve more. We are delighted that Lenovo is embracing Project Athena and look forward to working more closely together in the near future,” Taha Khalifa Client Computing Group Sales Director for EMEA Territory at Intel.

New Lenovo laptops, certified Project Athena

The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon features a new, elegant design, streamlined responsiveness and rugged durability. Through Intel's Project Athena innovation program, the ultimate productivity tool is made even better, with optional Global LTE-A connectivity, up to 15 hours of battery life—along with RapidCharge technology—to keep users on-task, wherever the road leads. Packed with the 8th Gen Intel® Core™ it can handle any task with fluid efficiency, from video editing to playing the latest online games.

The 14-inch Lenovo Yoga C940 is the new 2-in-1 convertible laptop redefining smarter performance and design with its all-metal chassis and clever built-in features, like TrueBlock Privacy shutter, Windows Hello biometric authentication, and garaged pen with silo charging and Windows Ink. Enable Lenovo's exclusive Q-Control by pressing Function-Q to shift into Intelligent Cooling Mode for your PC to auto-adjust performance and optimize battery life based on tasks. There is an improved battery life of up to 17.5 hours in FHD, and up to 10.5 hours with a UHD display. With the device lid open, Alexa replies instantly from across the room, providing pop-up notifications even when the screen is locked. The 10th Gen Intel Core i7 processor dynamically upscales video content on Windows Media Player to Super Resolution for a crisper image on an optional 4K HDR display. This flagship device supports fast Wi-Fi 6 and comes with a Dolby Vision® enabled display and a redesigned Rotating Sound Bar with Dolby Atmos® Speaker System for immersive audio in every usage mode. An engraved camera notch makes 14-inch Yoga C940's twice-polished aluminum lid easier to open, available in Iron Grey or Mica.

With a full range of intelligent features thanks to Lenovo Smart Assist, Project Athena and Alexa, the 14-inch Lenovo Yoga S740 is designed to help people save time for daily convenience. Seriously sleek with an all-aluminum body and color-matched keyboard, the 14-inch Yoga S740 is powered by up to 10th Gen Intel Core processors and touts a hands-free IR camera login and time-of-flight (TOF) sensor. Easy to carry around town at 1.4kg (3lbs) light and ultra-slim at 18.1mm (0.7in) at its thickest point, the Yoga S740's 14-inch optional 4K VESA400® HDR display with Dolby Vision9 features amazing sound with Dolby Atmos Speaker System, optional NVIDIA® GeForce® GPUs, plus an upgraded Eye Care mode made to help reduce eye strain from blue light emission. Great for the whole family, it will soon showcase a new child safety setting that reminds kids to limit their screen viewing time in one sitting.
