UAE, February 27, 2018 - H.E. Dr. Mohammad Salim Al Olama, Undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention, recently met with H.E. Bahodur Sharifi, Republic of Tajikistan's Ambassador to the UAE, at the Ministry's office in Abu Dhabi to discuss cooperation between their two countries in the health field. Dr. Issa Al Mansouri, Director of the Undersecretary Office and Director of the International Health Relations, was present during the meeting.

At the beginning of the meeting, H.E. Dr. Al Olama received from the Tajik Ambassador an official invitation from Tajikistan's Minister of Health to H.E. Abdul Rahman bin Mohammed Al Owais, UAE Minister of Health and Prevention, to visit his country's health facilities.

The two sides also discussed ways to strengthen their joint collaborative efforts in key areas in the medical field, including skills training, doctor's exchange program, sharing of latest medical practices, and investments in pharmaceutical and medical industries.

The Undersecretary assured the UAE's cooperation with Tajikistan, saying both countries will benefit from their respective experiences in enhancing the efficiency of their respective health systems. He also shared the Ministry's initiative to harness the power of next-generation technologies such as artificial intelligence to provide sustainable medical solutions and promote community health in line with the global standards. The Ministry, he revealed, is also continuously working towards improving the skills of the country's health professionals; adopting health information technology across the UAE; and successfully organizing international health conferences and exhibitions.

For his part, the Ambassador reiterated his country's desire to strengthen its ties with the UAE. He praised the Arab nation's successful hosting of many international health conferences, as well as its modern health infrastructure and technology and world-class competencies. The Ambassador also disclosed a number of investment opportunities in Tajikistan's medical sector.
