Forest Green takes top spot as ‘Colour of Year'; the distinctly elegant colour creates an interesting contrast along with bright and pastel hues
Dubai, February 06, 2018:   Walls speak a thousand words and convey powerful stories that expresses and reflects the personalities of those living there. Caparol Paints, a global leader in the paints industry has unveiled an avant-garde palette of colours and themes that tell the untold story of time as part of its colour trends for 2018.
Caparol has been a front-runner in colour trends and palettes over the years. With a highly experienced research and development team, Caparol has unveiled interesting colours with unparalleled textures for 2018. Along with creating the colour palette to reflect 2018, the leading German brand has declared a deep dark, noble forest green as the ‘Colour of the Year. Green leads the way in 2018 for Caparol with various hues and shades designed around it. Blue stays on the palette in different nuances, but remains reserved. Significant on the other hand are muted grey nuances of rosé, mauve and other adjacent color shades, which give the color world a calming character.
Caparol's Forest Green palette also features Rosé and Brass shades to compliment the dark colour. Green is an ode to the forest idyll and allows one to immerse themselves in the deep silence of a native forest walk, and experience the magical peculiarity through a clearing complimented with bright accents of the accompanying shades. Rooms become a relaxed retreat; conveying security and stability without being monotonous. The combination with rosé and nuances of red open the scenery with a touch of exoticism. Soft to intensive sorbet-color shades become an invigorating eye-catcher. Together with a noble brass-tone, they round off the design. Despite this striking accentuation, the almost fairy-tale-like melancholy is preserved. A gray, reserved moss green, that dulls the contrast, keeps the combination of the natural green with floral rosé shades harmoniously together.
Other shades in the 2018 palette are mauve gray, delicate yellow, anthracite, ocean blue, nature green, cool rosé, berry, olive and night blue. The entire shade card is a mixture of calm colours with eclectic accent shades to brighten up any space. While the sober paints create intrigue, the brighter ones add excitement and drama.
Commenting on the 2018 trends colour, Commercial Director Middle East at Caparol Paints, said, “Caparol's colour trends is a result of our understanding of people's needs, we observe the trends, preferences and demands of customers while researching and developing the colour palette. It is what sets the pace and tone for home and office interiors for the entire year. Caparol has been a global forerunner with its predictions and colour schemes every year with innovating themes and designs that are bold, expressive and distinctive. A huge investment is made each year into researching the global movements in colours based on which the themes for the coming year are derived. This year, once again, Caparol is at the helm of global trends with its novel themes and paint techniques.”
As in previous years, the colour forecast expresses key directions in colour trends across four key colour schemes. Each takes the form of a colour palette and décor direction, encompassing not just what the theme looks like, but also the mood and energy evoked by each one. Every theme is a result of extensive research and colour expertise.
Taking Forest Green as the colour of the year, Caparol has released an entire palette with varying themes as below:
Eye-catcher forest green, rosé + brass
Longing, silence, forest idyll - this color world lets us immerse ourselves in the deep silence of a native forest walk, which experiences its magical peculiarity through a clearing with bright accents.
Eye-catcher mauve gray, delicate yellow + anthracite
Pastel tones characterize the mood of this color world with a surprising effect. They are not gentle, playful or lovely, rather they create the walls with clarity and subtle seriousness.
Eye-catcher ocean blue, nature green + cool rosé
This is reminiscent of Nordic clarity through its broad and fresh, natural color. It is characterized by an intense blue and green spectrum and its effect is intensified or reduced depending on the choice of nuances.
Eye-catcher berry, olive + night blue
Calm elegance leads this color world to its special character: A combination of velvety veiled berry nuances with muted yellow and soft olive.
Caparol's extensive range of premium luxury paints provides a wide array of colours and textures to choose from and to create unique experiences in each living space.
