Dubai, UAE – January 17, 2018:  Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister of Finance and President of Dubai Health Authority, the 8th Emirates Otorhinolaryngology Audiology and Communication Disorders Congress (EROC) started today at the InterContinental Hotel, Festival City.

The Congress is held in association with Austrian ORLHead & Neck Society, contributing the finest speakers and experts in high-precision specializations to add more value to the congress.

The congress was inaugurated in the presence of H.E. Humaid Al Qutami, Chairman of the Board and Director-General of the Dubai Health Authority and a number of senior health leaders. In the opening speech of the conference H.E, Al Qatami said: “It goes without saying that the close correlation between Otorhinolaryngology, Audiology and communication disorders, is also interlaced with various domains and diseases, both communicable and non-communicable diseases, as well as the various disabilities that may be imposed by such diseases, confirms - beyond any doubt - the importance of this complex medical specialty and the importance of the content being discussed in these two events. This urges us to focus on the development of research, studies, medical sciences and professional practices, as well as to make the most of the latest technologies and smart diagnostics and treatment methods available today, which are developing rapidly, especially for Otorhinolaryngology diseases and other related health problems.”

Dr. Hussain Abdulrahman Al Rand, the congress President, commented on this occasion: “the 8th Emirates Otorhinolaryngology Audiology and Communication Disorders Congress will discuss wide range of topics that will be brought to light during the conference which will make an excellent opportunity for all Arab otorhinolaryngologists to work together and learn about the latest technologies and research trends in the field. The 8th Emirates Otorhinolaryngology Audiology and Communication Disorders Congress will also be accompanied by a specialized otorhinolaryngology exhibition. This year we introduced the first GCC Research Forum in addition to the 4th Arab Research Forum with the core motive to encourage young researchers. The congress and workshops is accredited by Dubai Health Authority and Ministry of Health.”

He further expressed gratitude towards the UAE Ministry of Health, Dubai Health Authority and Emirates Medical Association for their much-appreciated patronage, supporting societies and the Organizing Committee for their continued support to the conference.
