UAE, November 2, 2017 - In response to the directives of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the Supreme Legislation Committee in Dubai (SLC) celebrated the UAE Flag Day, which also marked the 13th anniversary of H.H. Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan's ascension to the presidency. The SLC participated at the flag-raising ceremony held at Dubai Design District (d3) along with Dubai Sports Council and Dubai Smart City Office.  SLC officials led by Secretary General H.E. Ahmed Bin Mishar Al Muhairi, managers and employees who attended the commemoration renewed their loyalty to the UAE flag and the country's wise leadership; reaffirmed their pride in their beloved homeland; and reiterated their commitment to the values embodied by the UAE flag, which symbolizes unity, dignity, and honor.

In his speech, Bin Mishar said: “The UAE flag holds a special place in our hearts as it brings us all together to move forward with our heads held high towards development, prosperity, and progress that our founding fathers had set before us. We express our pride to be part of our beloved country led by H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President, who faithfully pursues the country's advancement in keeping with the vision of the late H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan to promote unity and solidarity as the foundation of the state's strength, growth, and pride.”

“Raising the UAE flag is a symbolic initiative that affirms our commitment and loyalty to our country and genuine values and principles of the union established by our founding fathers to fulfill the aspirations of the UAE people for a bright future based on truth and justice. Today, we renew our pledge to stand behind our wise leadership to continue leading us towards new achievements and successes in line with the UAE's ambitious goal to become one of the world's leading nations,” Bin Mishar concluded.
