UAE, October 15, 2017- H.E. Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Deputy Chairman of Police and General Security in Dubai and Chairman of Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University's (HBMSU) Board of Governors, dedicated the university's unprecedented success in obtaining an academic accreditation to deliver its Master of Science in Innovation and Change Management program fully online in the UAE to H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and the President of HBMSU.

H.E. Tamim renewed the commitment to leading the way to excellence in reshaping the future of learning and education based on the smart learning model, which represents an important pillar for translating the goals of the wise leadership's ambitious initiative to make Dubai the smartest city in the world.

During the first regular meeting of the HBMSU Board of Governors for the academic year 2017-2018 held recently at the Dubai Police Officers Club, H.E. Lieutenant General Tamim dedicated the unique achievement to the wise leadership on behalf of the Board and members of the faculty and administration. At the meeting H.E. said: “The accreditation of the Master of Science in Innovation and Change Management as the first master's degree program fully taught through electronic platforms in the UAE affirms the competency of the university to occupy a leading position in smart learning. This embodies the wise vision of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum and the directions of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum to adopt innovative and smart methods to enable new generations to take the lead in overall development and in creating and shaping the future.”

H.E. added: “We are proud that the master's program has been approved by the Commission for Academic Accreditation of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. This marks an advanced step towards building young competencies armed with modern tools and qualified to carry the banner of development and leadership in line with our ambitious aspirations to provide the best education for the creators and innovators of the future. This will be done via a methodology based on the development of the philosophy of learning through the solid pillars of smart technology, innovation, quality, and scientific research.”

“We are confident that the provision of innovative academic programs through electronic and smart channels strengthens our active role in achieving the objectives of the National Agenda of UAE Vision 2021 with regards to the development of a high-level educational system that ensures the potential investment of human capital in innovation and entrepreneurship,” he said.

H.E. concluded: “It is not surprising that Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University is a pioneer in the development of learning and education, driven by a vision to adopt new educational tools that meet the requirements of the future. We are confident that the new academic accreditation will place us at the forefront of entities supporting the ‘Dubai: Smartest City in the World' project which represents a true embodiment of the vision of a leader who does not recognize the impossible, marking a clear line to achieve goals summed up by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed to build a new reality, to facilitate life, to build a new model in development to provide happier life for people. We will continue the race to excellence to reach the forefront of global competitiveness and to put our pioneering achievements in the service of the UAE and all mankind.”

The recent meeting of the HBMSU Board of Governors saw the approval of the list of graduates for the academic year 2015-2016 and the academic year 2016-2017 along with the graduation ceremony.
